Baby, Baby, Baby! {Nursery Inspiration}

That's right, there's a bun in the oven! And..........

it's a..................................

GIRL!!!

My husband is a football and basketball coach, so I am around boys all the time. Finding out we were having a girl took me a few days to process! Not that I care what we have, I just want it to be healthy! I just knew I could handle a boy, a girl is going to be a different ballgame! My husband, of course, thought it was a girl all along!

Of course, with the baby comes the nursery!! Yay! Here is what I am thinking so far.....

The walls will be painted in a shade of gray similar to this one...

There will also be a simple white crib.

The bedding, curtains and upholstery will consist of a few of these patterns. My personal favorites are A and E right now.

I want to find a mirror and paint it white such as the one in this photo:

We want to get a dresser that will function as a changing table to begin with, like this.

How do you display your Christmas Cards?!

I'm always trying to find some cute creative way to display Christmas cards. I hate to just toss them as soon as I get them. This year, I came up with a new and super easy way to display the cards.

Christmas Card Holder {rainonatinroof.com} #ladder #Christmas #card

I simply wrapped twine around the ladder in the corner of my living room and used clothespins to attach the cards! It took under five minutes to do and I love how it is looking!

Update: DIY Coasters get a Fork Easel

Remember those vintage style coasters I made?

DIY Fork Easel {rainonatinroof.com} #DIY #easel #fork

I picked up some old forks the other day and turned them into easels for the coasters.

It was way easy, all I did was use needle nose pliers to twist and turn the fork.

A super easy and stylish gift for under $3!

Yay for New Countertops!!!!

As most of you know, my husband and I took on a major renovation this past summer with a foreclosure that we purchased in June. Last week, we finally got some new countertops!!! I'm going to do a full kitchen reno post but wanted to share this with you now!! This is what our kitchen looked like before. Unfortunately, I don't have a great photo of the old countertops, but they were white with the gold specks.

And then one day, I decided to spray paint them black....because I thought I wanted black countertops.

The black didn't look bad, but it made me realize I wanted to go with something lighter, especially after I painted the cabinets. We went for Silestone in the Bianco River pattern.

Love it!!!! The hubby also built me an amazing island that we had covered with the same stuff...but you'll have to wait to see it after I get the kitchen cleaned up a bit.......hehehehe

DIY Decorative Vintage Inspired Coasters

Check out what I am making for my friends for Christmas!!!

DIY Vintage Style Coasters {rainonatinroof.com} #coasters #DIY #vintage

I love them so much, I even had to make one for myself. Better yet, they were super simple and better than that, they were under $2 each. I originally got the idea for making coasters from this site. She took 4x4 tiles, printed photos onto tissue paper, then modge-podged them on the tile. I wanted to make mine festive and decorative, so I purchased napkins and tissues by Anne Taintor. I just love her stuff. It's so me.

All I did was lay a tile on the napkin and tissue and trace around it, then cut out the square. After cutting out one tissue, I realized the napkins were going to work better for this. Once I evened up my cutting, I put a light coat of modge podge on the tile, then placed the napkin over the modge podge and put on another couple of coats of modge podge!! Super easy!!

Instead of making these coasters to actually use, I am going to get some thrift store forks and create easels so they can be displayed during the holidays!! Just love these!
